Flor de maga is the official national flower of Puerto Rico. Although originally endemic to the humid mountains of limestone in the western and north-central portions of the Island, today it grows everywhere in Puerto Rico due to its extensive cultivation.
A species of frog endemic to Puerto Rico that gets its name for the loud call the males make at night. This sound serves two purposes. "CO" serves to repel males and establish territory while the "QUI" serves to attract females.
Here in the island we call it " The song of the Coqui “ due to its consistent and rhythmic sound which is very relaxing and lovely to hear at night.
